We have a P7200 in our customer demo lab and I'd like to change the CCA settings to turn off communications to 3PAR HQ. Tried logging in as cpmaint, but I don't remember ever changing the password for this account. Anyone know the default cpmaint password?

Thanks.

Try using the Spvar account.

Or try using 3parcust as username and default password for that.

Thanks.

This has to be done at setup time or by using cpmaint which is set by the factory. Because always on reverse-tunnel was not acceptable in our security policy but using rooms is painful I was able to get the cpmaint password out of someone so that I can turn on the tunnel during installs/troubleshooting and turn it back off when the work is done. The fact that you can't do this post install with a customer account is frankly stupid.

Guys,

Is there anyone which can share the cpmaint password with me as I would like to setup my callhome feature to use a proxy but need to login using this account to change the CCA configuration?

Regards,

The fact that it's acceptable under any security policy is worrying to me. Who's got access to the other end? If something is compromised, who is to blame? When someone can logon as "root", the claim "it's impossible for us to access your data" is provably false.

I'm in the same boat and could do with knowing what the default is - as the "change password" option doesnt offer this account and "add user" says it already exists!

Sorry you'll have to log a call. This stuff isn't even handed out internally.

Have you tried blocking outbound access at your firewall either from the SP IP address or to addresses listed in the SP setup document they give you when you get the array? That way you have local control to turn it off/on if you have an actual issue and want to kick off an insplore etc.

I sorted it by just re-running the SpSetupWizard.html site - and it lets you set the proxy address - it seems to be an oversight that you cannot change it - though I can sort of understand it from a security/preventiing-diverting-traffic point of view.
