Hi all,
we are currently planning to implement Peer Persistence for Windows, starting with a Fileserver Failover-Cluster.
I believe to remenber that I read in the documentation that PP for Windows needs a Quorum Witness running on Hyper-V, and will not work with a Quorum Witness running on ESX.
Can anybody confirm or refute this?
I just can't see the point here: Both Quorum witnesses are a (the same?) LINUX-Appliance. What kind of influence does the hypervisor have? Why would a QW running on ESX prevent PP from working for windows??
Thanks,
Apol

OK, this turned out to be just a misunderstanding. The slides I meant show a statement that is not true, the Whitepaper "Implementing Microsoft multisite clustering using HP 3PAR Peer Persistence" (4AA5-5894ENW) puts it right: You can use a quorum device based on VMware or Hyper-V for Windows Peer Persistence.
