Hi All,
We just inserted new shelves and disks to our 2-node 7400 array, don't have DO lics
As we have rcopy I just deleted all data vv and copy vv from one array and will recreate it later to have all vv balanced as I will change set size at CPG level
The question is - how to rebalance system LDs that doesn't belong to any CPG - for example
.srdata.usr.1
.srdata.usr.1
admin.usr.2
pdsld0.2
pdsld0.1
pdsld0.1
Now they all seat at old disks. I can manually move their chunklets to new drives using movech but I tested with -dr options - but system suggests to move them only on highest disks and not compactly - tryes to put them on 20-,100-Ñ… regions. it looks not good for me
As I understand, this system LD created and spreaded at the ootb time - system moved it at the highest ch numbers if disks after spare chunklets.
If I try to do it manually - it will take so much time even I have only about 300 chunklets of this disks at all
I rised request to HP but I think they will suggest their rebalancing service - but I don't need it for regular data as I will recreate CPG and data on it. just need to sort system LDs
Thank you for you kind suggestion with it.
Rebalance system LD on 7400 after adding disks
Re: Rebalance system LD on 7400 after adding disks
You don't need DO to rebalance the system, you can use the system tuner feature which is included with the base os.
The only benefit DO would give you is the ability to do it one volume at a time.

Re: Rebalance system LD on 7400 after adding disks
As above, under provisioning, tune button in the menu bar will kick-off a tunesys.

or type in the cli the tunesys command
