Post subject: | remote copy RCIP throughput request |
HI all: Is there any requst bout 3par rcip remote copy? We have a 5Mb bandwith network connected in different cities. But the remote copy connect could be built. RCIP ports are still down. When we use checkrclink command, the log told us port is not suitable for remote copy. Latency: 9.914 ms Lost pings: 1 % Through-put: 0 25551/second Max MTU: 1500 Tx TCP Segs: 311 Rx TCP Segs: 301 TCP retrans: 3 % Errored Segs: 0 % Check remote server is running. Link 2:6:1 is NOT SUITABLE for Remote Copy Use Could you help us, thanks a lot |

Well, in my opinion it is quite simple, the connection is not stable nor wide enough. afaik the remote copy connection should be error free and have at least 100mbit of bandwith (but i would need to dive into the admin manual for that again). With 1% ping loss and 3% retransmits, the current connection would be very very dodgy. Even if the 3PAR would allow it, I would never trust my data over such a bad connection. |

the remote copy is in different city. the bandwidth couldn't reach 100mbit. I couldn't get the bandwidth limitation from 3par document. I am sure the 10mbit can do remote copy. But at least the bandwidth requested I don't know. Could you help us to get the correct bandwidth remote copy at least needed? Thanks for your response. |
