Post subject: | Stuck DDS defragmentation task after CPG renaming |
Hello, I had to convert all TDVV2 to TDVV3 and used the official documenation from HPE for Peer Persistence configurations. 95% went well of those tasks but in the end I got stuck. I had a DDS with roundabout 50 TB in the old CPG after converting everything. But during the final cleanup the situation got weird:
This is the output of the defrag task so far: Code: 2021-12-08 11:25:00 CET Started defrag process for VVs 2021-12-08 12:03:07 CET Failed mcall_checkvv_notify: VV ".sysvv_0CPG1" invalid 2021-12-08 12:03:07 CET Updated Sysmgr MCVV_ADMCK_NOTIFY failed with: mcall_checkvv_notify: VV ".sysvv_0CPG1" invalid 2021-12-08 12:03:07 CET Failed mcall_checkvv_notify: defrag VV ".sysvv_0CPG1" invalid Does anyone have some ideas on how to get rid of this annoying situation? And does invalid mean it's corrupted from data integrity point of view or is it just related to the CPG renaming? Thank you very much for your help! |

If you've deleted all the other tdvvs in the CPG I would try and create a new tdvv, wait 2 minutes and delete it. If it doesn't help I would log a case to have someone look at the logs... |

Unfortunately opening a case is no option anymore... I rebooted both nodes of the 3PAR sequentially and afterwards the stuck tasks had been gone. And luckily after the reboot the DDS got automatically deleted leading to unitialized chunklets. So despite the worrying about the "invalid" error message I'm lucky to have at least some disk space available again... |
