Hello, I want to know what is the pinout of serial adapter(180-0055 i think) in order to build one. I tried with this link http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.BINARYPORTLET/public/kb/docDisplay/resource.process/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay_ws_BI&spf_p.rid_kbDocDisplay=docDisplayResURL&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&spf_p.rst_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-resourceState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c03607537-5%257CdocLocale%253D&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken but i doesn't works. Is it use only 3 wires? Thanks! |

My kit came with 2 adapters, and a blue straight through cat5. Adapter #1 is a 180-0055 only has 3 wires connected. rx/tx crossed over: DB9 Pin 2 = RX <---> RJ45 Pin3 DB9 Pin 3 = TX <---> RJ45 Pin2 DB9 Pin 5 = GND <---> RJ45 Pin5 Adapter #2 is a 180-0059, has 3 wires to the serial port, appears to be straight through DB9 Pin 2 = RX <---> RJ45 Pin2 DB9 Pin 3 = TX <---> RJ45 Pin3 DB9 Pin 5 = GND <---> RJ45 Pin5 Pictures below are what I used for referencing location of PIN 1 only on the DB9 male and RJ45 female, the pin out labels included in these pictures are not for this application, that's what the text above is for. ![]() ![]() |
