Seems like MU1 has been released:

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/h ... cachetoken

It is going to be interestin to see if people are able to upgrade problem free themselves...

"This release of HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 MU1 now supports the 1.9TB cMLC drive" <- wow

"Reduced mutex contention in remote copy to fix
RCFC sequential write performance issue."

This has been a long outstanding issue for us.
While it has taken very long for HP to accept there was a problem,
they were very quick once engineering accepted this.
Have some more outstanding issues, but this was the major performance drop.

Additionally, if you go here:

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/mostViewedDisplay?javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.prp_efb5c0793523e51970c8fa22b053ce01=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c02738093-4%257CdocLocale%253Den_US&javax.portlet.tpst=efb5c0793523e51970c8fa22b053ce01&sp4ts.oid=5044394&ac.admitted=1402256169437.876444892.199480143

It makes it appear that the long awaited flash cache is in fact here, and included in the base os.

This corroborates 3.1.3 MU1 being available

I do not see flash cache mentioned in the release notes.

Neither do I. HP is being quite cagey about these things.

Also, FWIW, neither 3.1.3 nor 3.1.3 MU1 are available on the USB portal for download.

How do you all go about receiving updates? My 7200's are only on 3.1.2 MU2....

I emailed '3par-sps@hp.com' and asked them to do it.

I also got SP 4.2GA and theres a link to "automatically download updates from hp" in the network config pages.

Whats this "USB portal" download site - do you have a URL ?

Do you all get notifications when updates come out?

For instance, how do you know a MU or Patch has been released?

I think HP is absolutely rubbish in terms of communication.
Patch info is very late, comes multiple times, and there is no good overview. (that I have found)

Granted I am not in the storage dept, I guess those guys have better way to keep track.
We do have a dedicated HP service manager, it could be that we get updates that way.

I just check some times if there are any documentation updates by date sorting.
This time I came across the release notes, two days old. Pure chance...

Have not gotten any notification from HP...

The "Proactive support agreement" means I get a proactive firmware review twice a year. But I only just had one, and it came in advising me there were no applicable updates.

I'm on 3.1.2MU3. In short, I become aware of updates when I see it referenced on this forum.
