We just added some more SSD disks into our system.
All of our original SSD disks are 480GB 150K SSDs. The new SSDs are 480GB 100K SSDs.
What are the performance differences between these SSDs? Will we be able to balance our loads between or across these disks without issue?

Re: Multiple SSD types in same system
not sure about performance issue, but as long as you don't filter on rpm on your SSD CPG there should be no issues balance the load between the old and new SSDs.

Thanks. It's a shame SSMC won't let me create the CPG like that. I had to use IMC.
Re: Multiple SSD types in same system
Well, since this old post still comes up at the top, if I Google this issue.....let me update it with my experience:
A couple of days back I was facing the exact same dilemma.....so I called 3PAR........the guy said it is OK to mix and helped me configure my CPG and run a tunesys,
Now I see that the 100k and 150k SSDs have been balanced. No issues so far...........but it has only been a couple of days.

SSDS really the best for this kind of job. Had not known that they consume less power other than just being less sized and faster!
