3par node 1 failed question

Post by bunky1966 »

Hi both of our 3par arrays had Node 1 failures, but where resolved by the system?

Checkhealth all reports fine now, I find this a little worrying.

one happened on july 21st on one array and the other on aug 2nd on the other array.

Node 1 failed (node offline due to failure (oxd))

does anyone know what this is before I call HP

Thanks

We had a similar issue, HP replaced the node. Haven't had a single issue since. The thought at the time was more than likely a failing SSD on the node. They couldn't be sure, so they replaced the whole node.

If you haven't had a node replaced before, word of advice. Keep a cheap Dlink/Netgear switch handy. The nodes replicate themselves across the network. For some reason ours never seem to work that way however.. Keeping a cheap switch resolved the issue. May not happen to you, but for some reason it hated our network.
