reinitializing an s800

Post by BookLover99 »

We had an S800 with 300+ drives on mothballs for a while. We decided to downsize to only the fastest drives. Once were done we fired it up. We were able to admit all of the physical drives. We can even create volumes and such but we don't have an admin volume which causes us some other pains. How do you initialize the admin volume properly?

Tried running OOTB again?
That should create the admin volumes from scratch.

Actually I figured it out. As the root user on the system you can run "admithw adminvv" and it will take care of it for you.

Good info... so you had to log into a node as root? What steps did you take to accomplish that?

I'm incredibly interested in where you found this.
Was it documented, and how did you determine required credentials?

Edit: Googling this command literally takes me to this post and contains no other results.
